Easter Eggs

As professional or incredible Ghibli works may be, there will always be that small unnoticeable details that escape all but the observant, intentional or not. This section is thus set up to nitpick at details from the movie you never knew (or noticed).

When Shizuku went to her room to check her library cards, one of her book shelves was missing a support leg. The airship Shizuku saw that early summer morning had "HAVE A NICE DAY" written on it's side, which might explain Shizuku's exclamation.
In the scene where Shizuku was looking through the books in her school library, one of them had the title Totoro written on the spine. Here we see the seal used by the Amasawa family. Below it is probably the date of donation: 15th July, 1958.
In the scene where Shizuku was muttering "Jerk!" all the way home, she passed by a house with the name Yamamoto on it. The train station that Shizuku gets on on her way ot the library is Mukaibara station.
Here we see the name of the station again, in Hiragana instead of Kanji. In this scene, we can also catch Moon getting on the train from the left. She later alights at Suginomiya station via the North exit, and we also see that she was taking the Keio line. The second kanji used for "Keio", though, differs by a stroke, and reads as "Tama", probably a pun to the Tama area.
The house where Moon was teasing the dog belonged to a Suzuki family. (In-joke for Suzuki Toshio?) The pig that holds the door open has its head facing right; later, it magically faces straight front.
Remember the old clock in the shop? It had "Porco Rosso" written on its face. There are a total of five dwarves in the clock: yellow, purple, red, blue, and green.
The dwarf kick appears from the number eight on the clock face. Shizuku's apartment number is 408.
The test that Yuuko missed due to shock was for Japanese language. While waiting for Yuuko to discuss her problems, Shizuku was reading a "Teens" magazine.
In the library scene when Seiji kept Shizuku company, the book he was reading is Kiri no Mukou no Fushigi na Machi. Incidentally, it is also one of the inspirations for Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi. After the parting, on her way home on the train, we see a red billboard with the title Mimi wo Sumaseba, although most of the billboard is hidden.
In the magical town in the Baron's story, the inside of a shop where the Baron and his partner was created was shown. Hidden in the shelves of figurines lies a white Totoro similar to the one in the movie Tonari no Totoro and a black cat like Jiji from Majo no Takkyuubin. When Shizuku was caught for not paying attention in class, they were studying English.
Shizuku, and probably her family, uses Kleenex tissues. The apartment building Shizuku's family stays in is five storeys high (observe the laundry, and Shizuku's open window).
The Baron's hat, stick and arms changed positions thrice in the movie, although the stick never changed hands. The only time the hat was on the head was during Mr Nishi's flashback. Due to continuity error, in the Baron's final scene, his left arm was straightened instead of bent behind him. Mr Nishi was first seen drving on the left side of his minivan. When he was sending Shizuku home later, however, the driver's position is now on the right side.
In the ending credits, Seiji was seen together with Shizuku. Moon was also seen later during the day.
In the evening, we see Yuuko waiting by the road. Sugimura turned up later and the two walked down the road together. Yes, they got together in the end, and it's a fact stated by the director himself, because he wanted a happy ending for them.
