Okahara Chitose
Appearance: Tall-ish. Maybe around 5:10, long dark brown hair tied back in a scruffy ponytail which reaches just below the shoulders. Wears a pair of dark rimmed glasses, vision is 1:2. Generally an un-kept appearance, not dirty, but gives the impression that he really can't be bothered. Only other thing of note is that he wears a pair of well-worn, black fingerless gloves constantly, in defiance of the dress code and to the annoyance of the teacher.
Character: Unlike the appearance, this description is not based on myself, after all it wouldn't be role-play if I just created my own clone under a different name. Anyways: Always off in own little world, daydreamer, tends to look down upon people who can't be silent, has a natural aversion to people who are loud and imposing, can be very sarcastic (although never to a persons face, is very protective of personal space, avoids physical conflict like the plague and as a result is very easy to push around, has a constant inner monologue going and is his own worst critic. The phrases "I wish I hadn't said that" and "what am I thinking!" come to mind. Is a closet Otaku.
After School Activites: Go Club. I used to love chess, and I learned how to play Go about 2 years ago. I've competed in a tourney before but didn't do very well. I'm not athletic enough to do anything else.

APPEARANCE: He has Dark Brown hair - shoulder length and straight with a bit of feathering going on at the fringe.
He's got Brown Eyes and lightly tanned skin with a small cut on his forehead. He's 5'10" (1.78metres) and weighs 9stone (57kg) with a slim build. He looks clean and approachable, friendly but a little vacant at times, and also isnt afraid to give a smile.
CHARACTER: Hiroshi is shy and sometimes prefers to be by himself although he does enjoy company as long as theyre friendly, he has a sense of humour and enjoys a laugh but he's not distracting or boistrous.
Hiroshi can be social if he feels like it but is more interested to get stuck in to his school work, but he isnt nerdy, he's more of a loner.
He is calm and quiet, and easy going but when pushed too far - don't underestimate his patience!
He lives with his mother and little sister in a small apartment in Saiwai Ward - about half an hour away from Shin-maruko Station. And he hasnt seen his dad since he was 11.

Appearance: 5' 3" with a slender build. Mai's long black hair, along with her growing bangs is constantly falling into her unusual blue eyes. Her face is friendly if not beautiful and the bright colours she wears compliment it.
Personality: Despite growing up surrounding by male company Mai has turned out to be very feminine. She has a sweet composure and is naturally friendly, if a bit clumsy. Optimism has gotten her through what could have been a hard childhood and she practices it strongly. (there's more to her, really... I'm hoping it'll unfold as I start writing)
Hobbies: Mai loves art. She sketches endlessly and hopes to be a designer on day. Other than that, she's an avid tennis player and water animal. She also enjoys messing around in the kitchen and concocting strange dishes.
Shiokawa Kagami

Appearance: Short, Black hair (I have no concept of styles, so maybe this is helpful when finding a potrait) with thin-framed, small lensed glasses. Medium height, Pale skin colour, no distinguishing marks.
Character: Reserved, but will speak out in front of people. Prefers to be by herself, and despite often shrugging people off, will become good friends in time. She's intelligent, but gets in trouble for being lazy in class, claiming that the work is too easy. She often, however, uses this to cover up her being exceptionally bad at P.E and Maths.
Hobbies: She's seen more Anime than she lets on, and has a fondness for anything meloncholy. This is the same for her taste in music, which has caused her, to the mystery of everyone else, to develop a strong fangirl tie to the English band "Joy Divison" also leading her to know more English than she lets on. She hates most physical activity, and prefers to sit around listening to music.

Clothing: Tom boyish/neo gothic depending on mood, doesn't like uniform, but will wear it if there's no other option.

Anything else you want to mention: I love cakes and sweets (i do certainly not approve of cake throwing), classic mangas - I dont like the modern stuff, too superficial. British rock, J-pop is too cheesy. Love animals, especially bears.
Satomi Kazuo

Gender: Male
Hair: Glossy and white. Shoulder-length. Fringe falls into eyes.
Eyes: Pinkish-red.
Other: Kazuo is albino, very tall and quite thin.
Character: Kazuo likes to be liked, but it can be some time before he trusts a new friend. Hard working introvert. Often awkward around loud or very outspoken people. Usually the one who says what everyone else is thinking and never one to follow fashions.
Interests: Kazuo knows a great deal about animals and plants, and draws them frequently but rarely shows others his work, preferring to keep it private.
Fushida Maho
DoB: September 12
Appearance: Long straight fine black hair to below the shoulder, with bangs that often hang down like curtains hiding my face, especially when bent at a desk writing. Steeply slanted dark blue eyes that appear green at times. A beauty spot below the right eye. Pale, clear skin, round face. People tell me I’m beautiful but I don’t see it myself. Maybe they’re just being nice. I'm tall and curvy.
Character: Reserved, calm, quiet, a little moody but able to mix easily with people and can be gregarious when the mood is right. I rarely laugh. Dry sense of humour.
Anything else you want to mention: Academically excellent, was high in the ranking tables in middle school. Not a great lover of sports but I have natural ability, particularly running and team sports. I love indie rock music scene and go to see many small bands in little gloomy basement clubs as often as possible. I'm currently learning guitar and I have a passable singing voice. Sunworshipper.
Takako Aoi
Characteristics: Occassionally brilliant, but inescapably disorganized. Never studies for tests. She's good with words, but often too embarrassed to display talent, and has little self-confidence. Aoi likes to spend time with other people, but feels isolated in a crowd.
Kashikoi Chii
Appearance: Small and slim, a figure that brings a pixie to mind. Thick, wavy dark hair that seems almost too long and overpowering for her small frame. Large, brown eyes which seem to have amber tint to them. Quite pale and frail looking. As before mentioned looks young for her age which is a constant source of annoyance. Wouldn't be described as pretty more endearing. In defiance of her child like stature she wears clothes too big for her which makes her appear even smaller. Is constantly in a hat and has a surprising amount of them, a sort of collecting obsession. Her lips naturally tilt upward causing her to appear to be smiling. Generally (against her will) she pouts when angry, like a child and is constantly fidgeting.
Character: Similar in some ways to my own, different in others. She is amazingly impressionable, and yet tends to have strong views and opinions. Loyal to friends and protective of them. Gets angry quickly, a constant mood-switcher. Completely and utterly positive, and can never stay unhappy for long. To counter her appearance she is actually more intelligent than most her age but for some reason which she herself cant quite understand chooses to act dumber, mostly so that she can manipulate circumstances slightly. Well-Intentioned and extremely clumsy. Doesn't think things through and often says things she doesn't really mean. Talks a lot but tends to ramble, dislikes cruelty in any way shape or form, even if it's a joke.
Anything else worth mentioning: As a hobby Chi collects hats and has a fascination with fire (which she burns herself with quite a lot due to her clumsiness) and the sky (which she often gazes at giving her a day-dreamer like look). Also likes playing card games (For money) and keeps a pack with her at all times, this is generally how she gets up the money to buy afore mentioned hats.
After school club: Photography club (Something I'd like to do myself), is athletic enough to join a sport club but chooses not too.
Ameashi Natsuba
Birthday: June 4
Appearance: shoulder length brunette, hazel eyes, tans easily, petite (4 feet 8 inches, 90 pounds, BMI 20.2), pretty.
Character: outgoing and happy, can be a little nervous and quiet in large groups.
Anything else you want to mention: plays the violin, good at throwing pottery, reads a lot, loves the outdoors.
Choose an after school club: has signed up for the art club AND the music club. She spends alternate Wednesdays at each.
Location: lives on road 106 about halfway between road 102 and the river. Walks the mile to school.
Elias (Icchan)
Characteristics: Slightly dark-skinned with slight Chinese features, skinny, 5ft6in. Shy, introvert, not very outspoken, but not insociable. And very frank.
Notes: Elias is his real name; however, being surrounded by Japanese, he prefers to be called Icchan to prevent being treated as a foreigner.
Okayu Sadoru
DOB: May 22
Appearance: dark reddish-brown hair, cut short and spiky, uses gel to style it, sometimes rather rakishly, grey eyes, more dark skinned than your average pale Japanese, tall (for a Japanese, say 173cm), lean, smiles a lot. Neat, cares about how he looks.
Character: outgoing, talkative, easy going, perhaps a little bossy, also something of a joker, fanatical about girls.
Hobbies: anime, photography (architecture and landscapes), swimming, cycling, indie rock music, hm... and girls.
School Clubs: will join swimming club when opportunity arises.
Kawahara/Sho

Hasumi Yuichi
Appearance: Black hair, brown eyes, gaijin-looking
Character: Paranoid, smart, has no confidence, creative
Miyagi Yumi, Age 27, F, was a student doctor at a good Tokyo hospital but lost her job due to cut-backs. A bit of a motherly figure - plump, cheerful, fussy, easy going, the students like her. Has been here three years. Never encountered a Shadow before but like all the teaching staff, she's heard the rumours of when they were last seen here five years ago. Medium length black hair, glasses, tends to wear thin sweaters and pleated skirts under her white coat. Likes to hang a stethoscope round her neck to look more important. 
Makoto Kobayashi, Age 56, M, tall, thin as a bamboo pole, quiet and studious. A shock of thick black hair and slightly wild eyes although when he's quiet he can be a bit like a mad professor. He likes to wear light brown suits and often takes off his jacket to reveal a sand coloured velvet waistcoat and shirtsleeves. Uses a very old-fashioned pocketwatch on a chain. 
Kazami Mizuho-sensei, Age 26, F, fresh from Hokkaido Uni with a BA in Fine Art (majoring in sculpture and woodblock printing). Supervisor of the Art Club (although not always present - self-teaching is practiced at some of the Isahaya after school clubs). She has long red hair which she usually wears up, purple-blue eyes and an indecently buxom figure and is seen by almost all the boy students as really pretty. She's quite bubbly and dippy and outgoing and fluffy and absent-minded but once she gets into her subject she changes into a very focused person, very serious and can be strict, especially with boy students who fail to appreciate that she has a 'light' student-friendly side and a serious teaching side. In art class she wears an old white coat like a lab coat or a doctors coat. Her personality flips clearly from friendly/playful to serious/instructional when she puts this on. She's only been in the school a year and has no knowledge of the Shadow People. However she does spend a lot of time looking at that mural in the arts department and puzzling about it. 
Benibara Nadeshiko-sensei, Age 25, F, has been a teacher for three years after graduating from a teacher training college in Tokyo. Shares a small apartment with two other lady teachers. A very busy lady and still single, although she has many men and lady friends she has never met Mr. Right. She is friendly, outgoing and very pretty, taking great care over her appearance. She believes the way to get the best from students is to be honest, open and friendly and come down to meet them on their level, using gestures and language they would understand. She teaches classics from literature and poetry but each year she will choose one book that will connect to the generation she is teaching, and she will draw the students in using this technique. 
Takefumi Kensuke-sensei, Age 29, M, has taught at Isakaya only a year, prior to that was at Suginomiya middle school near Tama. Studious and very polite, but punchy and spontaneous in his methods, he teaches by carefully nurturing the strengths of his students and by refusing to expose anyone's weakness. Struggling on his average pay he lives alone in a small apartment in a not especially nice area of Kawasaki City. For the last few months he has found himself falling for Benibara-sensei but being in a professional working relationship with her, he has kept his affections secret.
